Things to do in Normandy start with the D-Day sites, but the museums, a German battery, two war cemeteries, Bayeux and Mont-Saint-Michel fill the rest of your trip. Many visitors see them on Normandy guided tours. Here is what each one is, what it costs and when it opens.
Six museums tell the story of the landings, each from its own stretch of coast. Most charge €9 to €13 for an adult. The Mémorial de Caen costs more and covers the whole war. The beaches, Pointe du Hoc and the cemeteries cost nothing.

If your tour puts a museum in the fare, you save the ticket and the queue at the desk. If it only lists the museum as a stop, ask whether the ticket is included. The prices above are each museum's own for 2026.

The Overlord Museum stands 500 m from the Normandy American Cemetery. It holds over 10,000 pieces, with more than 40 vehicles, tanks and guns. Allow an hour to an hour and a half.
An adult ticket costs €9.90 in 2026 and €10.90 in 2027. From June to August it opens 9:30 am to 7 pm. It closes from 4 January to 12 February, and on 24-25 December and 1 January. The Blue Fox days from Paris put the ticket in your fare.
The German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer was part of the Atlantic Wall. It is four concrete casemates on the clifftop, and they still hold their original guns. Bayeux's tourist office calls it one of the most striking sites on the D-Day coast.
Entry is free all year, and a visit takes about 30 minutes. The range-finding post is closed for safety. A 1 km heritage walk with eight signs starts from the tourist office desk on the site. The Blue Fox cider day from Paris stops here for 45 minutes. Some Bayeux days use it when Pointe du Hoc is shut.
Arromanches is the seaside town on the Gold Beach coast. Off its shore lie the remains of the Mulberry harbour, built in the utmost secrecy by 600 firms and 50,000 people. Its floating piers let the Allies land supplies day and night without first capturing a port.
The Musée du Débarquement explains how it was built. It opened in 1954 as the first museum of the landings, and moved to a new building in 2023. An adult pays €12.90, a child of 6 to 18 pays €8.30, and a family of four pays €37. It closes in January and on 24, 25 and 31 December.
The train day from Paris and the private VIP day both stop in Arromanches. On the other days, you see the harbour only if your route passes it.
La Cambe is the German military cemetery near the American sector. It opened on 21 September 1961. Its exhibition, opened on 5 June 2019, deals openly with war crimes, soldiers' own responsibility and the work of remembrance. The Garden of Peace holds 1,220 maples.
Entry is free. It opens 8 am to 7 pm in summer, from 9 am at weekends, and 8:30 am to 5 pm in winter. It closes between Christmas and New Year. Several Bayeux and Le Havre days stop here for 30 minutes to an hour.
Sainte-Mère-Église is the village of the Airborne Museum, behind Utah Beach. Before dawn on 6 June, the U.S. 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions landed by parachute and glider behind the beaches. The full days from Bayeux often start their loop here.
The Airborne Museum in the village costs €11.50 for an adult and €7.50 for a child of 6 to 16. A family pays €11 per adult and €5.50 per child. Its "Comics go to war" exhibition runs from 14 May 2026 to 30 November 2027.
The Bayeux Tapestry Museum is closed for renovation until autumn 2027. Do not plan a visit to see the Tapestry itself. Bayeux still repays half a day, and most tours from the town meet in its centre.
Bayeux Cathedral was consecrated in 1077 by Bishop Odo, the half-brother of William the Conqueror. It was the Tapestry's first home. Entry is free all year, from 9 am or 10 am to 6 pm by season, with Sunday mass at 11 am.
The Linen and Wool exhibition tells how the Tapestry is conserved. It runs from 14 May 2026 to 19 September 2027 at two Bayeux museums, the MAHB and the Musée de la Bataille de Normandie. An immersive part opens at the Hôtel du Doyen on 12 December 2026.
Mont-Saint-Michel is a rock in a bay on the border with Brittany, with an abbey at its top. The village below is a commune, and you can walk into it freely without a ticket.
The abbey ticket costs €16 until 30 September 2026 and €13 from 1 October. Under-18s go free with their families. It opens 9:30 am to 6 pm from September to April, and 9 am to 7 pm from May to August. The abbey closes on Sunday 4 October 2026 for a festival.
Each Mont-Saint-Michel day puts the abbey ticket in your fare. From Bayeux you get three to five hours on the Mont. From Paris the day runs about 14 hours.

Cider is Normandy's own drink, and two kinds of day build it in. The Blue Fox day from Paris ends with a 20-minute tasting at a farm. The City Wonders coach days serve a glass with the two-course lunch.
If you drive yourself, you pass orchards all over the Bessin, the country round Bayeux. Stop where a farm sign says cidre. Leave the tasting to your passengers if you are driving.
